Activities

FBA helps develop and direct initiatives, projects, and events for clients. Many successes have resulted from effective planning and collaboration among client resources, government officials, and FBA principals. With the growing complexities of government processes and interest groups, such collaborative “team efforts” are key to effective advocacy in Washington.

The following items are examples of FBA’s work for clients over a broad range of projects and issue areas.

  • FBA has worked with coalitions of research universities and technology firms to establish and fund a number of academic scientific computing centers across the country.

  • FBA has assisted colleges and small universities in the development, funding, and implementation of distance learning and health care delivery to rural areas, accessing both grant programs and low interest loan programs across various federal agencies.

  • FBA has helped a number of colleges and universities secure directed congressional appropriations for the building and construction of facilities, as well as funding for the technology infrastructure to provide state-of-the-art instructional and research instrumentation in these facilities.

  • FBA has helped research universities develop collaborative agreements and contracts to provide services for federal agencies charged with Homeland Security. These include issues such as detection, remediation, transportation, emergency planning, training of emergency personnel, and food safety.

  • FBA has been actively involved in developing joint research initiatives between universities and federal laboratories as well as research programs in the emerging fields of nanotechnology, bioinformatics, and neurosciences.

  • FBA has orchestrated briefings and social receptions for clients to interact with Congressional and federal officials in an informal atmosphere.
