Dennis Beal Dennis Beal has more than three decades of experience in politics, government, and media, having served on the staff of the United States Senate, as a campaign consultant at the national and state levels, and as an award winning newspaper reporter and editor. He directed national political-issue and grassroots advertising campaigns on health care, trade, and human rights. He also created and produced a monthly public affairs program for PBS stations. Beal directed the successful public affairs component of the national campaign that partnered HUD and pension investment funds, attracting a billion dollars for construction of affordable housing throughout the United States. Beal served as a senior staff member to Florida Senator and Governor Lawton Chiles and as press secretary of the United States Senate Budget Committee. He later developed and directed public affairs initiatives for the AFL-CIO as an assistant to President Lane Kirkland. Beal is active in many ongoing metropolitan Washington outreach efforts to provide job training, transitional housing, and food to the homeless. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Community Ministry and of the Washington Hunger Fund. |
